Portrait of an artist. At a time of visual spectacles everywhere the German painter Thomas Nolden represents a more subtle approach towards the world of images. Influenced by Matthias Gruenewald's Issenheim Altar in Colmar, France and by the complex textures in his natural surrounding he depicts in his paintings the energies and elementary forces that shape our world underneath.
