In his paintings Thomas Nolden makes the energies and elementary forces tangible that shape our world underneath the surface. The process of observing and absorbing forms
and fabrics is for him as important
as the actual painting act itself.
Through poetic imagery and an often patient rhythm the experimental documentary INSIDE THE PAINTING makes the subtle universe of this contemporary artist intelligible and invites the audience to engage in an intensive way of viewing.
